Aalborg Airport is an international airport with more than 40 destinations and free parking. Aalborg Airport was voted Denmark’s best airport at the annual Danish Travel Awards of 2019 with emphasis on quality – including everything from routes and security to restaurants and lounges at the airports. The airport is approximately 6 km away from Aalborg. Typically in order to reach Aalborg, you can take the city bus or a taxi.

Buses from/to airport

From the airport you can take the bus to the city center.  Bus tickets can be purchased from the airport ticket machine. Alternatively, you can withdraw cash from the airport cash machine and purchase your ticket directly from the driver.

The busses running are:

  • Nr. 70 (Thisted – Aalborg)
  • Nr. 71 (Airport – Aalborg)
  • Nr. 12 (Universitetet)
  • Nr. 200 (Aalborg Busterminal)

Book a taxi from/to the airport

Often there are long rows of taxis when the planes land and so there is no need to book a taxi, but at times outside peak, one may need to book one. For a regular taxi from Aalborg Airport to Aalborg city center, you must expect a price of around DKK 150.

Getting around Aalborg

Within the city, almost all city buses leave from south of JF Kennedys Plads (bus terminal) and pass the city center stops on Østerågade and Nytorv.
